Question. In how many parts doth the true conversion of man consist?

Answer. In two parts: in the mortification of the old man (Rom. 6;6); and in the quickening of the new man (Col. 3;10).

Proofs.

  • [proof-1] Rom. 6;6.—Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.—1 Cor. 5;7.—Col. 3;9.—Eph. 4;22.
  • [proof-2] Col. 3;10.—And ye have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.— Eph. 4;23, 24.—Isa. 1;16, 17.
